As stated, Miscanthus is a sterile plant that can only be propagated by dividing the roots, to create new plants. Essential the new plant is an exact copy of the original. When we release our rhizomes you get an identical plant that is growing in our nursery. Over the last 6 years we have propagated 4 varieties of Miscanthus, they are listed below with details of each varieties properties.
Harrison
has been in North America more than 50 years, starting out in the west mainly as an ornamental plant.

Ryerse
originated in the UK, where it is used mostly for fuel. This variety clumps and takes longer to close cover the field.

Riverside
is our most versatile variation, it spreads to fully engulf the field in as little as three years. Riversides root system is a surface type not a tap root like most others.

Giganteus
has been propagated in many locales around the globe. Originally, cultivated as a heat source, more recently M.Giganteus has seen major use as a high volume feedstock for many processes requiring bio specific product.
